AmericaNecrosium Project examines the top ten ways Americans die each year according to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). The strategy for this experiment involved appropriating a bank of images from the internet that somehow applied to each of the ten causes of death listed by the NCHS. These images were then digitally altered, filled with super-saturated color, superimposed, and composed together within a grid structure. The top ten causes for American deaths are represented as triptychs, each panel containing multiple images that represent different perspectives of the same cause coexisting simultaneously. The intention is to transform these American death images into something that may echo logo design or product packaging, ready to be consumed by an American public that has perhaps long been conditioned to surrender to mass media images without contemplating their content or consequences...
